Testimonial:

“I have been having lessons with my teacher for around one year, and she continues to do this with the same diligence as she did at the start.”

Read James ‘s testimonial, an advanced student who is learning French with us for personal interests.

James, 25, London (UK) I am British living in London, and English is my native language. I studied French at school to A-Level, but for the last 4 years I have spoken French 3 or 4 hours a week on average, so when I started my lessons with my teacher one year ago I was already at an advanced level.

However there is a very clear difference in my level now compared to what it was at that stage, and there is no doubt in my mind that is in very large part due to my teacher’s particular teaching method and her enthusiasm and dedication.

I started my lessons with my teacher with a clear objective in mind- namely, although I was fluent I wanted to deepen my understanding of the language – using more advanced structures, vocabulary, and generally looking to bridge the gap as much as I could between where I was and the level of a native.

I have found my teacher’s teaching method to be absolutely perfect for me– she is extremely professional, dedicated and in my opinion significantly better than the numerous other French teachers I have had. One particular example I have found extremely useful is her typing corrections or suggestions via Skype when the lesson is in progress. At the end of an hour-long lesson I will on average see 40+ Skype messages with e.g. more advanced/ widely-utilised phrases for something I have said, or a correction such as the incorrect gender being used.

At the end of the lesson she will spend a few minutes going through what she has written, so that I have the explanation and context. I have been having lessons with my teacher for around one year, on average three or four lessons a week, and she continues to do this with the same diligence as she did at the start. This is one example of her professionalism in general being outstanding.

As mentioned, I started taking lessons with my teacher when I already had an advanced level and wanted to deepen my grasp of the language, and her approach of teaching has been invaluable to me over the last year. However I have no doubt at all that with her diligence, enthusiasm, and effort she would tailor the best approach for the student in question to progress, regardless of level. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
